We Did It! – Now We Head To Israel!

2 April 2010

Wow. We just announced the mayoral exploratory committee; and we're still more than a year away from the primary election, but already the grassroots is coming together to power my candidacy to take back City Hall.

Thanks to people like:

Melissa Gate $5;

Tina Williams $10;

James Cooks $15;

Marvin Williams $25 and countless others… Guess what? We broke our $5,000 goal!!!!!!!!

To all who contributed, thank you so much for your commitment to our campaign.

There is still more work to do. We're going to continue our grassroots campaign door to door, and neighborhood to neighborhood. We're going to shock the pundits who think the only way to City Hall is through smoke-filled boardrooms. There is another way - the people-powered way, and that is how I plan on winning this election. If you haven't already signed up, please, pledge to volunteer with my campaign now. And, together, we will take back City Hall!

Our campaign doesn't take a day off. Tune in this Sunday, April 4, to the "Chat Room" radio program with host Terri Dee (WTLC 106.7-FM). I'll be on from 8 a.m. - 9 a.m.

Next week, I'll be developing international relationships that are sure to benefit our city. I'm heading across the ocean to Israel to address the International Democratic Education Conference. I'm honored to accept the invitation as a keynote speaker to address this prestigious gathering. I will deliver my speech, "What does a Democracy require of its schools." Follow me on Twitter for live updates!

Thank you once again for your support. I look forward to continuing to work with you to take back City Hall!
